FACULTY OF DENTISTRY, UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA NAMES A NEW DEAN

Prof. Felix Chukwuneke, a renowned oral and maxillofacial surgeon, has emerged as the new dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).
Newsmen report that Chukwuneke recorded a land-slide victory at the election, which was opened for professors in the faculty on Saturday at the UNN, Enugu-Campus.

Newsmen observed that the election that was peaceful was supervised by Prof. Edith Nwosu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNN, Enugu-Campus.
In his acceptance speech, Chukwuneke thanked the Vice-Chancellor of UNN, Prof. Chukwuma Ozumba, for giving him the opportunity to serve.
He, however, assured the university community that he would move the faculty to the next level in education and research development.
The new dean encouraged students to study dentistry, as it was a lucrative course globally’’.
Newsmen recall that Chukwuneke, who hails from Oba in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra, was the first and only alumnus Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in UNN, since its inception in 1960.
He graduated from the institution in 1991; he joined UNN in 2005 as Lecturer II and rose rapidly to the highest academic status of professor in 2015.
